Genius Map

Because "Self-Confidence" is the Ladder to Success... 🥇

Genius MAP is an international child development program based on Soroban - an ancient mathematical calculation tool used in Japan and in many other countries. Genius MAP improves brain power in children aged 4 to 16; it generally develops the ability to master their skills of solving problems mentally.

I'm so lucky that I had the chance to participate in Genius Map 2nd Regional Competition at LIU-Kheyara and Genius MAP 9th International Competition 2019.

"The Genius Mapping Experience is for thought leaders, such as coaches, authors, and teachers, who have a message to share with the world", Kim Deyoung said. Really it is. It is a multi-tasking and cooperative work, where all of us -volunteers- should welcome the students at 7:50 a.m., ask them if they want to use the bathroom and take them if they want, then take them to their seats according to the row, school, and ID number. Each volunteer was responsible for a  row, where rows where divided between left and right. We were called "Zone Managers". Zone Managers were responsible for checking if the ID on the student's card matches the ID on the table, spreading pencils, spreading exams, and collecting them to same file in an ordered manner.

After the exam had finished, zone managers became in the correction zone called "correction". This is the best part of the work. Even it was stressful, tiring, and has a lot of responsibility, it was never boring. We got introduced to students' minds, hand writings, and the way they think. We got introduced to differentiate between 1 and 7 when they are written the same, 3 and Ɛ that both mean 3, 5 and 6, and so on. Correcting these exams taught us to be patient.

Announcing the results was the hardest part; all of them deserve it. Genius Map Owners gave each children a Gold Medal with Genius Map Logo to appreciate their work and confidence. There were 250 winners in the regional competition and 1500 winner in the international competition, and they were classified to 5 levels. Each winner got a trophy; then a memorial photo was taken for all the winners along with the trophies.

It was a great experience meeting these resplendent small geniuses and spending two wonderful days with them.

That's how both days have ended..

Many thanks to Dr. Hadi Hamza, Genius Map CEO and Founder, Dr. Ahmad Faraj, and all LIU family.
